The candidate should promote our websites utilising a variety of modern copywriting techniques for SEO/SEM
Proof-read emails and content written by other members of the SEO team
Be a proactive member of the eMarketing team and provide support and assistance to senior team members when required
Generate proposals for fresh and timely content relevant to our niche audiences
To read and keep abreast of developments in the field of search marketing
To mentor and train other more junior members of the team when required
Manage projects, delegate and report on teams activity
Educated to degree level or above in English Language, Literature or Journalism
Experience in journalism or online content writing
Fluent in written English with excellent grammar and spelling
Ability to write across a wide range of topics
Ability to research and write articles quickly
Good quality control skills / ability to edit own work
Good interpersonal and communication skills
High competence in Microsoft Word
Web savvy – experience of utilising the internet for research
Knowledge of best practices in writing for online marketing (SEO and SEM)
Knowledge and experience conducting keyword research using various industry tools
Previous experience managing/leading a small team
Beneficial but not required
Knowledge of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)
Knowledge of Wikipedia, Google Knol, article submission websites and online press release services
Knowledge of social media websites such as Digg, Stumbleupon etc
